Introduction
In Mexico, nutritional disorders represent one of the most serious public health problems.
The nutritional transition is characterized by the coexistence of both nutrient deficiency and excess problems.
Nutrient deficiencies affect growth, mental development, and the ability to defend against infection. While excess problems have as a consequence chronic diseases associated with nutrition.
Both nutrient deficiencies and excess problems have a serious impact on the survival, quality of life, and development of the population.
THEREFORE, THE SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH OF MEXICO OFFERS THE MASTER OF SCIENCE IN POPULATION NUTRITION WITH THE PURPOSE OF TRAINING PROFESSIONALS CAPABLE OF IDENTIFYING AND ANALYZING THESE PROBLEMS, AS WELL AS GENERATING EVIDENCE OF SCIENTIFIC AND ETHICAL PROBLEMS CONTRIBUTING TO THE BASIS OF SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION AND ETHICS IN THE POPULATION.
GENERAL PURPOSE
To train professionals with the competencies in the research area that allow them to identify needs and contribute to the solution of population nutrition problems.
