Introduction
The objective of the Master Blockchain and Big Data UCM is to offer students a comprehensive vision of the technologies of decentralization, or blockchains, and of big data analysis. An opportunity to become the protagonist of a revolution in the making, which demands professionals with specific training in the most sophisticated companies and organizations.
From financial services, with the disappearance of intermediaries, to large distribution, to offer the consumer full traceability of food, the blockchain modifies the status quo of many businesses. It is defined as a gigantic account book in which each record –or block– is linked for the benefit of the security and anonymity of the transaction, with each user –or node– being the one who verifies its authenticity. Big data techniques are used to identify patterns through data capture, analysis, and study. Examples can be the purchasing behavior of a significant number of customers, the cycles in the market, or the phases in the production process, which once identified are activated for the benefit of the company, either to sell more, anticipate peaks in the demand, or achieve savings in the logistics chain.
