The Master in Italian language, literature and culture is offered by the Institute for Italian Studies (ISI) of the Università della Svizzera italiana, USI in Lugano. The full-time study programme is offered entirely in Italian and comprises 120 ECTS (for a usual duration of 2 years). An agreement signed on April 4th 2011 estabilishes the equivalence between the Master in Italian language, literature and culture (USI) and the Laurea magistrale "Filologia moderna. The study programme of the Master covers three main subject areas: Italian language / Italian and comparative literature / Arts, history and culture, within a holistic framework encouraging the encounter of expertise from different academic fields. Italian literature, the central subject of the Master, is taught with constant reference to the culture in which it has been produced and studied.The teaching staff includes internationally renowned scholars with outstanding research records in the various fields.
