Masters degrees, commonly known as MA, are postgraduate degrees lasting at least one year and sometimes two years, they are taught degrees normally requiring some actual research. MA is the most common name for a Masters degree and is often used.

Officially known as the Italian Republic, the country is found in southern Europe. The official language is Italian and the cultural rich capital is Rome. Many of the world's oldest universities are located in Italy, in particular the University of Bologna (founded in 1088). There are three Superior Graduate Schools with "university status", three institutes with the status of Doctoral Colleges, which function at graduate and post-graduate level.

This two-year degree program is research-focused, allowing students to produce an original 20,000-word thesis. Students may pursue both years of the MAIA in Bologna or one year at another participating European university as part of a cooperative degree program. It does not require a concentration and allows students to submit a thesis in lieu of two of the 16 non-language courses normally required for the MA Applicants put forward a research proposal which, if accepted, becomes the subject of an MAIA thesis in the second year.

Approximately half of the Johns Hopkins SAIS class choose to begin the program in Bologna. Those interested in concentrations requiring proficiency in languages other than the eight offered at SAIS Europe must first speak with the relevant academic program director.

Overview

The investment management starts from a correct valuation. For this, an introduction to the philosophy of "value investing" will be presented to students, as well as an introduction to the most important concepts of accounting.
