The Haifa Center for German and European Studies began operating at the University of Haifa in the academic year of 2007/8, following winning a tender by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). The Center promotes research and other academic and public activities on modern Europe and Germany, emphasizing the Israeli and Jewish perspectives. One of its pivotal activities is a special MA program, the aim of which is to expand and deepen students’ knowledge of Germany and the German language, and its central role in the European Union.
