The aim of the Master of Arts (M.A.) in International Relations Programme (in English) is to provide its graduates with the fundamental principles of international relations, and the skill set to evaluate international relations from multiple viewpoints and the academic competence to develop in-depth analyses in the field. The program, thus, targets training graduate students who are competent both in domestic and foreign policy, masterful in conceptual and theoretical perspectives, specialized in their field, capable of analytical thinking and adapting to the dynamics of globalization processes, and equipped with the necessary academic tools to compete in the international arena.

Admission Criteria and Required Documents

Those who hold B.A. or B.S., or J.D. (Law) degrees in International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, Management, Economics, History, Sociology, Psychology, Translation and Interpreting, Western Languages and Literatures departments of faculties of Management, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Political Sciences, or Social Sciences, as well as Law, Communications, or Engineering faculties can apply to the program. Applicants must have at least 55 standard points from ALES (EA) / or 610 points from GRE (Quantitative section). In addition, the applications should provide a C.V., a statement of purpose (1-2 pages), and a writing sample or a sample publication. Due to time constraints, submission of 2 Reference Letters is not compulsory for 2012-2013 admissions. However, names of 2 reference people should be stated in the C.V.s. The evaluation and admission of candidates to the program will be based on their ALES/GRE scores (50%), undergraduate grade point average (25%) and interview performance (25%).

Criteria for Successful Completion of the Programme

The medium of education in the M.A. Programme in International Relations is English. The successful completion of the program requires submission and approval of a Master’s Thesis as well as having completed eight courses totaling at least 21 credits in the allotted time period indicated in the Graduate Education Directory.

Quotas for the 2012-2013 Academic Year

2 students with full-tuition waiver, 1 student with 50% tuition-waiver, 7 students with full tuition.
