The M.Sc. in Physics with specialization in nanophysics provides advanced courses on the fundamental physics that determine the structure and govern the dynamics at the nanometer scale. Topics of direct interest are quantum physics and chemistry, nanoparticles, nanotubes and fullerenes, graphene, nanobiology, nanomagnetism, superconductivity, electron microscopy and spectroscopy, tomography etc.

The courses are taught by renown scientists in their respective fields. The research teams hosting the program have a long tradition in theoretical, computational and experimental techniques in nanophysics. The interaction with professors, Ph.D. students, and other faculty members is encouraged as this will enhance your research competences.

For your Master’s thesis, you’ll be allowed to perform frontier research in theoretical, computational as well as experimental nanophysics at the Electron microscopy for materials science (E.M.A.T.), Experimental condensed matter physics (E.C.M.), Condensed matter theory (C.M.T.) and Theory of quantum systems and complex systems (T.Q.C.) research groups, to name a few.

This graduate program is internationally recognized and is an integral part of the Nanomat Master’s program with partners in Paris and Uppsala: www.nanomat-master.eu. You will get the possibility to study at other universities, laboratories, and scientific institutions in Europe to diversify your competences.
