Our MSc Accounting and Finance programme is aligned to the Professional Level syllabus of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). You can take ACCA professional level exams during, or after, the programme. You can also apply for our Academic and Career Skills module, gaining valuable work experience for up to six months as part of your course. Our MSc Accounting and Finance is a unique programme which has been designed to provide you with the key knowledge and skills to enter a range of different careers in the fields of accountancy and finance. Part qualified accountants from other recognised institutions may also be admitted to the programme. As well as providing the opportunities to study key areas in depth such as corporate reporting, governance and financial management, the programme is unique in that it will also develop the employability skills you will need to succeed in your future career. The BPP MSc in Health Psychology programme is taught by research-active staff through a mix of tutor-led presentations, student-led sessions and discussions, work in small groups, student presentations, independent learning and project work. The programme makes use of both structured learning opportunities and supported independent learning strategies. Importantly, the programme aims to develop a peer approach in which staff model good practice and draw on their experiences of research, scholarly activity and professional activity. Students are expected to demonstrate understanding of a wide range of research methodologies as well as the ability to explore the limitations of existing research strategies. In addition, students are expected to demonstrate competence in relation to the design, implementation and evaluation of a piece of original supervised research. Independent learning includes hours engaged with essential reading, case study preparation, assignment preparation and completion. Teaching and learning strategies will encourage students' original and creative thinking. This will be facilitated by drawing upon students' own experiences and practices to interrogate theory. Health psychology is a dynamic field, with new situations posing new problems and presenting new opportunities. Health psychology practitioners need to be adaptable and innovative, as well as competent, in order to meet these challenges. The programme is supported by a wide range of online facilities based on an interactive e-learning environment that uses computer assisted technology to enhance the learning process. This is accomplished by establishing both a campus and an online learning environment that exposes students to new information in a safe setting; so new ideas can be expressed, new skills can be practised and all learners can engage in cooperative and supportive interactions with lecturers, tutors and other students. In addition, the learning and teaching will benefit participants both personally and professionally by being relevant and applicable to real world settings. There are 12 contact hours per week (four hours of lectures and eight hours of seminars in the first and second stages of your MSc and you are expected to spend an average of four hours preparation and follow up work for each seminar per week.
