Established in 1968, the ZHAW School of Management and Law (SML) is one of the leading business schools in Switzerland today, offering internationally recognized Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, a broad range of continuing education courses and programs, and innovative research and development projects. All programs are based on scientific theory, interdisciplinary in nature, and strongly oriented to real-world business practices. The school motto "Building Competence. Accreditation

In 2015, the SML became the first business school of a Swiss university of applied sciences to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). A mere five percent of the world’s business schools have managed to achieve this prestigious standard of achievement awarded by the most significant international accreditation institution for business schools.

In 2012, as the first university business school in Switzerland, the SML was awarded the “Institutional Audit” Quality Seal by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA).

Campus

The ZHAW School of Management and Law offers modern classrooms and lecture theaters with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and LAN connections. Facilities include group work areas as well as a 280-seat lecture theater for seminars, workshops, and podium discussions. The ZHAW sports program(in German)offers a wide range of activities, from standard gym facilities to team sports such as volleyball, badminton, and soccer, and individual pursuitssuch asclimbing and golf. These activities are either free of charge or at special rates forstudents and staff.

After earning your Bachelor’s degree, you automatically become a member of the alumni family of the ZHAW School and Management and Law. *Candidates admitted under the admissions procedure who then enroll for the next available degree program are not required to pay this enrolment fee.

Living Costs

The cost of living in Switzerland reflects the country's high standard of living. Residents enjoy the excellent infrastructure, public transportation, high-quality accommodation, and as well as the country’s great natural beauty and superior cultural offerings.

Student living costs in Switzerland are comparable to major European cities and are, in fact, lower than those in Paris and London.

Actual living costs depend on personal lifestyle and choice of recreational activities.Based on the experience of former students, CHF 1,300 should be sufficient.

You will complete your studies by completing a Master's thesis based on a practical research question. What You Need to Qualify You need to meet a number of criteria to qualify for this MSc program. The main requirement is a Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance or an equivalent university qualification in Business Administration. The admission of individual applicants is based on their overall profile and will be approved on merit. If you have a university degree in another, related discipline, such as business law, economic journalism, economic engineering, or economics, you may be admitted subject to additional achievements to be completed. What You Will Learn The MSc program in International Business is a full-time course of study consisting of a preliminary program, two intensive semesters of study, and a semester in which to write the Master’s thesis. The intensive workload is an aspect of this program which appeals in particular to ambitious students with high levels of self-management. The curriculum is built around two key areas: internationalization and intercultural management. Students strengthen their competence and apply it in practical research and consulting projects.
