Master’s Degree in 3D Character Animation The Master's Degree in 3D Character Animation specializes students in the art of Acting, learning to transform animations into real character actors. The program also provides all the artistic and technical knowledge needed for being part of an animation studio's team. This Graduate program is focused on training animators from a multidisciplinary perspective, preparing them to join all kinds of productions: feature-length films, publicity, TV series, and a long et-cetera. Ilion Animation Talent Scholarships Students on the program will carry out 150 hours practical work at Ilion Animation Studios, working directly on a new international Hollywood production that will premiere in 2016. Plus, they’ll be able to compete for 8 scholarships of between 50% and 40% for the Master’s Degree. Course Content Animation Introduces the student to the basic tools and technologies needed for carrying out their job, such as the appropriate language, tools and skills in the art of animation. During this module, students will be able to make the leap and turn into professional animators, applying Body Language and Non Verbal Communication as fundamental resources to obtain a good performance from their characters. Cinematography Animation is part of a specific creative and expressive process that requires its own codes and language. In this module we’ll understand different concepts of cinematography, such as Cinematographic Language, Audiovisual Narrative or Script in order to be able to apply them to animation. Production This module teaches the students the relationship between the animation department and the rest of the studio. It offers a global vision of the whole elaboration process in an animation project, the workflow and necessary and specific tasks that the animator carries out within the pipeline. Master's final Project Students will carry out an End of program Project based on real-world work that animators do in a studio Students will have to face producing several animation shots that will make up a short. It will be directed by an animation director and it will follow the steps covered in the program, presenting the different shots in the agreed timeframes and handling criticism and suggestions to obtain the final approval of each shot. Master’s Degree in Art & Visual Design for Videogames The U-tad's Master's Degree in Art & Visual Design for Videogames provides students with all the knowledge they need to dive into a the professional sector as videogame artists, to be responsible for creation, art and visual design of videogames. Students will carry out and present an End of Master’s Degree Project that will go through the whole process necessary for creating diverse visual materials, using all the Learning Outcomes they have acquired throughout the Master’s Degree program and subject to simulated conditions, such as budget, timing and resources. Master’s Degree in Game Design The Master's Degree in Game Design at the U-tad specializes students in designing videogames, preparing them to steer their career towards any of the so-called "interactive entertainment" disciplines. The content of this Master’s Degree builds on the foundations of videogame design, their practical applications and human and material resource management, just like the entertainment industry requires. Plus, students on the U-tad’s Master’s Degree in Game Design will learn to apply the concept of Gamification in digital environments and contexts other than videogames, understanding problem mechanics and solutions. The Master’s final Project will be carried out together with other students form other videogame-related Master’s Degrees at the U-tad: Master´s Degree in Art & Visual Design for Videogames and the Master’s Degree in Videogame Programming. Master’s Degree in Videogame Programming The U-tad's Master's Degree in Videogame Programming covers all essential knowledge needed for programming videogames, providing students with all they need to know to dive into this exciting professional world. Through this program, students will learn to work with 3D objects and environments, created game entities with behaviors and movement of varying complexity and capture and manage entry data from a player through the wide range of available devices. On finishing the program, students will carry out an End of Master’s Degree Project, where they will go through the whole process of creating, designing and programming a real videogame where they will have to prove all the knowledge acquired during the program. This End Project will be carried out together with other students from the Master’s Degree in Game Design and Master’s Degree in Art & Visual Design for Videogames. Master’s Degree in Visual Effects Creation for Cinema, Television and Publicity (VFX) The U-tad's Master's Degree in Visual Effects Creation for Cinema, Television and Publicity (VFX) unifies the theoretical and practical knowledge needed for students to specialize in creating and integrating next-generation visual effects into audiovisual projects for the film, television and publicity industry in one program. During this Master’s Degree, students will learn the theoretical pillars that rule audiovisual language and use the latest technology in real-world projects. They will also broach the human and material resource management skills associated to estimates. The Master’s Degree concludes with a Final Project, that will be to create a professional quality short film as part of the student’s demo reel, a key element for finding a job on graduation. Broadening the theoretical base that Audiovisual Narrative is supported by and the knowledge and exploitation of the new means that are on the market to preview and plan them. Technology This module will allow students to have a global vision of the digital postproduction technologies and the processes and procedures it entails. It is aimed at providing practical experience in the technologies, processes and tools, both cutting edge hardware and software, and the application of the theoretical knowledge acquired throughout the program. Management This module is made up of two general areas: Project planning & monitoring and Team management. Throughout the program students will apply the knowledge acquired to different projects that will be carried out and will focus on specific industry cases. Students will acquire the generic skills for directing, planning and monitoring visual effects projects, guaranteeing their viability and correct finalization and delivery.
