Vision

The vision of the university is to be "a world-class university for advancing biblical values through academic excellence and transformational leadership."

Mission

The mission of the University is "to educate and train Christ-like visionary leaders to spearhead holistic transformation in Africa and the world." This mission is expounded in the following statements:

a. Purpose Statement
The purpose of the University is to educate and train men and women in order to equip them to provide leadership to the Church and society based on biblical priorities, and to spearhead spiritual, social and cultural transformation in Africa and the world.

b. Business Statement
The International Leadership University is a non-profit institution, committed to offer quality education which is self-sustainable.

The International Leadership University - Kenya is an evangelical Christian University, whose philosophy shall consist of the Statement of Faith as outlined in section 5 of the Statutes. Christian spiritual values form the foundation of all the objects, functions and, programs of the University. The determination of curriculum; the selection of students, lecturers, and administrators; the requirements for graduation; the character expectations of staff, students, administrators, and lecturers; and the means used for funding and development are all based on biblical values.

Admissions & Requirements

Academic Qualification and Requirements

Applicants for Certificate Program

Applicants holding a mean grade of D+ (Plus) at KCSE qualify to enroll for a certificate program in the various disciplines of study at the University.

Applicants for Diploma Program

Applicants holding a mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE qualify for either Regular or Open, Distance – Learning mode (ODLM) specifically for the Diploma and Certificates students. Credits from a Diploma with good grades (B (Plain) and above may be transferable into a relevant Bachelors program, depending on the content equivalency in relation to bachelors’ program requirements.

The K.C.S.E mean grade of C (Plain) qualifies an applicant to take either a pre- university or bridging course of 28 credits of 7 subjects at 4 credit hours per subject.

Applicants for Bachelors’ Degrees

Applicants holding a mean grade of C+ (Plus) at K.C.S.E or equivalent with at least C+ (Plus) in English and Mathematics or mean grade of C (Plain) with a diploma (Passed with credit) in any field of study with two (2) years working experience in a relevant field e.g. Counseling, Religion, Social Work, Welfare, Psychology and HIV/AIDS, may apply.

Applicants for Masters Degrees

Applicants for Master’s degree should have earned recognized first (1st) degree with at least second (2nd) upper class honors in a related field from an accredited University or college with a minimum grade point average (G.P.A) of 2.75 on a scale 4.0 scale.

A second class honors lower division or G.P.A of 2.5 may be considered for admission if they have at least 2 years experience in a related field, and if accepted, will be placed under academic probation during the 1st semester of study.

In keeping with the Church’s mandate to bring the Good News of redemptive transformation to the entire world, the program places emphasis on discipleship and multiplication of godly, competent leadership as the most effective means of fulfilling this mandate. Master of Science in Governance (MSG)

The program places emphasis on principles of good governance as well as processes of transformational leadership, producing leaders who promote the common good. [+]

Master of Science in Governance (MSG) The Master of Science in Governance is a two-year program designed for those serving in or preparing to serve in roles of governance, especially in the public sector, though also applicable to NGOs and private institutions. It is intended to prepare and equip learners to critically analyze societal issues and to actively engage in formulation and implementation of public and corporate policy. The program places emphasis on principles of good governance as well as processes of transformational leadership, producing leaders who promote the common good. Christian faith and biblical values are intentionally integrated within each course. [-]

Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies (MABTS)

The MABTS degree is an intentionally integrated two-year program designed to provide core biblical studies, theology, spiritual formation and ministry competencies for leaders of church. [+]

Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies (MABTS) The MABTS degree is an intentionally integrated two-year program designed to provide core biblical studies, theology, spiritual formation and ministry competencies for leaders of church, para-church, and lay ministries, as well as professionals in the marketplace. In addition, the program prepares students for research and analysis, giving a solid foundation for advanced Masters and doctoral studies. Along with academic rigor, the MABTS places particular emphasis on developing a vision and passion for the Great Commission and movement-building through the development of the skills of evangelism, discipleship and equipping others as leaders.
