EURECOM

Introduction

EURECOM is a graduate school and a internationally recognized research center in communication systems. It was founded with the legal status of an EIG consortium (Economic Interest Group). This private status gives EURECOM the advantage of being highly flexible and reactive at both the organizational and administrative levels.

In 2012, EURECOM has moved to a new building of 5,000 m2 on a ICT Campus, located in Sophia Antipolis, the largest European Science Park ("Telecom Valley") on the French Riviera. Sophia Antipolis is internationally recognized as a leading centre of "New Information and Communications Technologies" in particular in the telecommunications sector. In Sophia Antipolis, the interaction between research and industry is particularly strong. The Science Park hosts over 1300 entities: companies, private and public research centres in information technologies, major network users, operators, service companies, standardization organizations as well as SMEs which result either from research activities or from the reorganization of larger businesses.
EURECOM also chose to open its recruitment to foreign teachers and students (more than half of the students come from outside of France, and the courses are totally taught in English) and to adopt the European curriculum.
