Course major in “Design, Industrialization, Innovation” 1 THE ENIM INSTITUTION (ECOLE NATIONALE D’INGENIEURS DE METZ) 2 MASTER OF THE CONTEXT Research, development and innovation of products, machines and manufacturing systems are essential to meet the industrial excellence and competitiveness. This often involves the mechanical sciences, materials science, systems management science and systems modeling and knowledge on systems dynamics. Facing these challenges requires data, information and knowledge to investigate and master the complexity of modern industrial systems. The training is organized over two semesters: a) the first semester (October to February) is devoted to theoretical scientific bases and tools, b) the second semester (March to July) is dedicated to a research project in a laboratory or in a company with the Master thesis writing. 1. OBJECTIVES The objectives of the Master “Design, Industrialization, Innovation”, in the specialty “Knowledge Integration in Mechanical Production”, are: - to acquire skills in research and development solutions for improving the efficiency of mechanical manufacturing systems, in particular, and of production general. - to know and Master the innovation approaches of a product, a machine or a manufacturing tool while improving its performance, - to learn how to develop models from data analysis, information and knowledge for studying and mastering the complexity of modern industrial systems, - to learn how to use scientific knowledge in mechanical and materials and information science for the control of manufacturing systems, - to develop scientific skills for solving industrial decision problems, using appropriate methods, techniques and tools. 2.
