The Philosophical Counseling and Consultancy Masters Programme taught in English is the first MA programme of this kind in Central-Eastern Europe, providing up-to-date knowledge and skills that can be professionally employed in support of persons, groups and organizations facing existential, relational, ethical, or decisional problems. The Faculty of Political Science, Philosophy and Communication Sciences is the youngest and most dynamic of the faculties of the West University of Timisoara, being created in 1999. Most of our students study international relations, public relations, communication and journalism. Teaching takes place in Romanian, English and German. The faculty has nine bachelor programs, six master programs and two doctoral programs, in political science and in philosophy. At present, there are few programs of this type in the world, and ours is the only taught in English in Europe. Our 2-year MA’s main purpose is the intense and comprehensive high-quality certified formation of well-trained professionals in applied/practical philosophy, which include philosophical counselling and consultancy for individuals and organizations, ethical counselling, and philosophy for children.
