INTEGRATED BACHELOR AND MASTER IN ARCHITECTURE

Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism (UAUIM)
Campus Full time October 2017 Romania Bucharest

This Architecture Program is the direct descendant of the first Romanian higher School of Architecture, founded in 1892. [+]

Aims of the program

This Architecture Program is the direct descendant of the first Romanian higher School of Architecture, founded in 1892. The 6-year Architecture Program (Bachelor and Master integrated) is accredited by the ARACIS (Romanian Agency for Quality Assessment in the Higher Education), the European Community (since 2008) as well as by the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects, since 1997). The present structure of the formative process for future architects is a synthesis of the tradition of the historical School of Architecture in Bucharest on one hand and the up-to-date appropriation of modernity on the other hand, in harmony with the field of contemporary architectural education in the world. The significant mutations that have marked the evolution of contemporary society in the last decades at the international level have made obvious the necessity that the educational process should fulfill new requirements, orienting towards an architectural education: - that responds to rapidly shifting values in contemporary culture, everyday life and current attitudes; - that is sensitive to the extremely rapid progress of information technology; - that is attentive to the growing instability of the labor market and the more and more specialized professional practice; - that is prepared to face the explosion of new building materials and technologies; - that is aware of the fast deterioration of natural environment and the necessity of creating a more energy-efficient and more sustainable built environment; - that is sensitive to traditional values and local identity; - that promotes creativity as expressing the contemporary contribution to the enrichment of the existing urban context. ...
